BALANCED TO UNBALANCED LINE-LEVEL CONVERSION

In a perfect world, the audio connections between different pieces of gear would all be alike.  Unfortunately, this is not the case and likely never will be. Balanced and unbalanced audio lines (1) are not inherently compatible and unless they have some help they don’t always play well together. For passive conversion from balanced to unbalanced line-level the RDL TX-1A Adjustable Line Transformer provides a versatile and economical solution. The TX-1A provides:
  • Transformer isolation between the balanced signal and the unbalanced input, thereby eliminating hum and noise caused by ground loops.
  • Adjustable output of 4 to 24 dB below the input.
  • 10kΩ input impedance (10kΩ or greater load) allows bridging of multiple TX-1A’s for distribution to multiple amplifier inputs.
